Once again this is the home of all things Groovy. My web person said that everything I have on the InterWebz should point to this domain - andywardking.com -That’s what I have done. If you had the other site bookmarked in your web browser then you will have to change it. Sorry If you were waiting for the email version or notification those features are down. - and if and when I can use them with this site is unknown. But, GOOD NEWS! if you go through FB or Twitter - Nothing will cage except for the look.
The front page of andywardking.com will change Daily- there will always be something to do. Thanks for being on the show
Went to a large parkinson’s related symposium on Sat - ran into an old bandmate and friend who was attending the retro video games show in an adjoining room. It was great talking to him for the short time we had. He showed me videos of the band he’s working with - he is also a recording engineer - producer - and owns an independent record label. I’ll go find that video for you. This is a parody...not a real band. A joke... a comedy bit if you must - They are available for Weedings - Bar and Bat mitzvas and New Tire Dealership Openings. Contact their management for booking info.
At this symposium - held on the beautiful campus of UNF - 40 years ago it was all woods, pine and live oak forests - spring fed borrow pits - panthers and bears and gators -oh my! I used to go camping there as a boy scout - there was nothing out that way nuthin’ - I need to go camping again soon, I’m way overdue. I guess this corporate sponsored trip Donovan leave on today will have to count for now, which is fine by me - Were gonna have a blast the weather will be nice - I heard that it was supposed to snow in Jacksonville. Daytime high of 80 lo 65 in Islamorada Key. Maybe we could find a place to camp a nght on the beach.
Back to the sympoium ... They also had two recumbent bicycles on display - they were nice, very well built and expensive - the didn’t have a very tight turning radius though - Our mentor and guardian Nancy-Lauren asked me to ride hew new bike home from , Zen Cog our local bike shop, it was a great little bike and I had no trouble keeping my balance and getting around safely. The key was that I could easily put my feet down when I stopped - I need a small bike - size does matter. Since the little bike suits my needs better (tooling around the neighborhood ) and cost around $300 and the recumbent is not really necessary right now and costs around $2500 - Duh.
Also recognized at the Davis Finney thing was out standing Local Person with parkinson’s of the year (Ii’m not making this up) Our friend Bill Wilson who, along with his wife, publish the quarterly parkinson’s newsletter for Jacksonville and the First Coast . Thanks Bill and Marylyn for all your hard work.
I’m going to go ahead and post this as a test. Monday’s letter will be from the road.
I’ll be adding more and more through out the day Sunday as test posts and I try to keep FB form telling you each time a put in a comma.
Thank you and God Bless.
just say yes!
meet Andy Ward King, a professional musician and artist until a diagnosis of parkinons dsease at age 49 forced him into an early retirement., he now uses his music, his art along with the whimsical world he has created in this blog as therapy to ( as he puts it ) outsmart his brain and make the daily battles with parkinson’s a little bit easier, to give him that all important reason to get up on the morning, to make his life worth living. Andy has learned how to say NO to gving up \ NO to depression and apathy \ NO to following willingly the road of decline that stretches before him. he learned that to say no to all of these things all one has to do is say yes. Andy has learned to just say YES to life/\\
