It’s 7:12 Thursday morning, and my new tattoo itches - DON’T PICK AT IT ANDY!!! I slept fairly well last night - I give it a so-so. I have an appointment with a GI specialist about my stomach issues this afternoon - yawn. So it made perfect sense to me to put up a picture of my favorite manicurist, Brittany Spence. Brittany works at Blow Out Hair Studio - 2222 Park St. in Riverside. A nice friendly place one block from my house - a lot closer than the Doctor I am going to see. Bittany does not have a degree in medicine - that I know of, so all she can do is keep my nails looking good. That is a very important job. This picture was taken outside of GrassRoots market in 5-points - my favorite grocery store.
And if you travel away from town on Park St. taking a left at King you will come to one of my favorite restaurants, Lola’s.
It is owned by my friends Danielle Gavan-Ramirez and Carlos A. Ramirez. Do yourself a favor and try the shrimp tacos. Tacos like my mom never made. My Mom’s a great cook she just never made taco’s like this. There is a little alleyway in the middle of this strip that leads to the apartment of one my oldest and dearest friends Barry - You can see by these pics that he is indeed old - but it sure beats the other option. There’s also a new bar called the Silver Cow (I believe) down a couple of places to the right here - I haven’t been there yet, but it looks like a nice place. Kinda classy - like Brittany. I have to put this sentence in as filler since I have nothing of significance to say, nothing I can think of right now anyway. Here we go - don’t ya know.
See, he IS old and I’m (the guy on the right, or is it left?) getting there, thank God. I try to go see Barry at least once a week and have coffee on his deck. #thisiswhatwedoallday #ilovemylife. - Those are hash tags - they have something to do with the interwebz.
John Citrone wrote a nice review of The Crawfish Of Love on the Folio Magazine website, Thanks John! I left a very obtuse and cryptic comment that I’m sure will be misunderstood - that is my intention. That is my point. The minute you believe anything written about the COL you have missed the point. The COL DOES NOT EXIST - ONLY THE PERCEPTION OF IT. And you don’t need a pipe wrench to figure that out. (end of rant)
That’s all there is for me not to say - this has probably been the most unnecessary use of electrons I have ever written - I believe it is the worst blog entry I have ever written - ever.
Then, why do I love it? Why is it already my favorite? Maybe because I end with another favorite thing in my life, my MOST BESTEST EVER FAVORITE THING (person) in the world bar none... Behold! My beautiful wife of 31 years Kathaleen with the best smile ever - the best. I have no reason to ever feel sorry for myself ever. I am very lucky man. I am always surrounded by a few of my favorite things.
Until Next Time,
Thank You for being a part of my life!
just say yes!
meet Andy Ward King, a professional musician and artist until a diagnosis of parkinons dsease at age 49 forced him into an early retirement., he now uses his music, his art along with the whimsical world he has created in this blog as therapy to ( as he puts it ) outsmart his brain and make the daily battles with parkinson’s a little bit easier, to give him that all important reason to get up on the morning, to make his life worth living. Andy has learned how to say NO to gving up \ NO to depression and apathy \ NO to following willingly the road of decline that stretches before him. he learned that to say no to all of these things all one has to do is say yes. Andy has learned to just say YES to life/\\
